Degree Requirements

General academic requirements at Muhlenberg are designed to furnish the student with the theoretical and practical knowledge that an educated person should possess regardless of personal career goals. The Muhlenberg College curriculum provides opportunities for exploring and integrating ideas while challenging you to question, discuss and think critically about your own beliefs and values. By fostering such skills and perspectives, a Muhlenberg education seeks to provide the student with the flexibility needed to meet the challenges of the future.

Please be aware! Fulfilling the College's general academic requirements is not the only criteria for the award of a degree.

Requirements for a particular field of study (major, minor, concentration, emphasis, etc.) vary. Contact the academic department or your faculty advisor for more information.

It may be helpful for you to map out the plan for your coursework many semesters in advance. Some courses are only offered every few semesters, so you will want to be sure you don't miss out on them. Also, a multi-semester plan will allow you to factor in opportunities such as internships or study-abroad and still meet all of your requirements.
