Job Search Workshops
- Offered each semester, these sessions include everything you need to know to successfully land a job or internship.

  • Job Search for Seniors: Learn about the job search process and how to use the college’s Recruiting Program.  (Satisfies Recruiting Meeting requirement.)

  • Incredible Resumes and Cover Letters: On the average, employers spend less than 10 seconds looking over your resume before they decide if they will interview you.  Learn what to include on your resume and how to describe your experience to maximize your chances of being selected. Also learn how to combine organizational research along with your own self-knowledge to write awesome cover letters!

  • Interview Like a Pro: Hear about what you can expect in an interview and how to stand out from the crowd.  We also address the importance of preparation and research.  Highly recommended for all students.

Gearing Up for Graduate School (late September - October)
Is grad school right for you?  What programs are available?  When and how should you apply?  We address these questions plus the essay or personal statement, financial aid, and entrance exams (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, etc.).  Attend these programs early in your college experience for greatest flexibility in your career planning.  See our Graduate/Professional School Guide for more information.

Muhlenberg Shadow Program, register in early October
Spend a day on the job over the semester break with an alumna/us or friend of Muhlenberg working in your area of interest.  You select the field and general geographic area and the Career Center staff matches you with a host.

Alumni In The Spotlight Career Panels
Scheduled throughout the year and co-sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations, these programs will feature Muhlenberg alumni from a variety of career fields.  Use this opportunity to begin networking early in your college career!

Mock Interviews
Offered upon request throughout the year. This simulation of a true employment or graduate school interview gives you a chance to try your skills in a non-threatening environment and receive constructive feedback. Can be video-recorded upon request.

Resume Critique
We recommend attending the Incredible Resumes and Cover Letters workshop and/or referencing the Write Your Resume article in the Job Search Guide prior to drafting a resume. Submit your resume to us by publishing it to the “Resumes for Critique” resume book in Career Connections and you will receive detailed feedback within two weeks.  To receive instant feedback, come to our monthly Resume Clinics or daily Quick Questions hours.

Resume Clinics
Bring in a typed draft of your resume and have it critiqued "on the spot.” Scheduled each month in Seegers Union.
