The sunlight glittered on the pure, white snow spilling off the m o u nt a i n peaks, the moisture in the low-lying clouds creating a rainbow around the hazy sun. Night comes fast in southern Bavaria when the jagged Alps block out the evening light of the deep valley. It leaves town residents to retreat to their warm homes. Still another farmer herds his sheep across the road, anxious to return home to a hearty meal after a long day of work. The sound of the silent evening awaits.
