"Immediately after the tragic incident of the World Trade Center, the [Islamic school] administrators realized that there would be a great deal of concern among the parents who bring their children to school. Typically the mothers drive their children to school and typically they wear the hijab. After September 11, very few mothers brought their children to school. They told us about the catcalls and abusive language. We started getting very threatening phone calls like blowing up our children just like they blew up the American people." (source)








Placing blame on children seems so irrational. Why cause them to grow up fearing for their safety when they are obviously not to blame for the events on September 11.
