In the beginning of the Punk movement, the Mohican were an important symbol for the emerging subculture. This Indian was vicious, exotic, and savage, but more simply, Mohican meant war. The Mohican was more, it symbolized the importance of doing it
together, no matter who you were, where you were from, or what
class you were born in to. The Mohawk became a symbolic hairstyle of the Punk
image.
