Head Shape

    The shape of the head,as well as other features, depict no emotion, however, can still tell much about the person.  The head tells nothing of emotion.  However, if the headshape is distorted in a drawing an overall sense the emotions are depicted. ;
    A good example would be if someone would draw their mother having a large round head, when in fact it is oval. The unrealistic interpretation of the mother's head could be do to trouble's within their relationship. The patient may percieve the individual drawn different from reality.
    When diagnosing a patient one must take into consideration the entire person and all things affecting that person.  An Art therapist would use the drawing created to help relieve tensions in the individual or the family.
