Shining Through the Darkness
Produced By Emily Strong and Craig Hilton
Shining Through The Darkness deals with the issue of domestic violence. Darlene Furey, a domestic violence counselor, discusses the trauma of violent relationships and the responsibility of men in helping to put an end to domestic violence. Using dramatic scenes and staged interviews with volunteer abuse counselors, the film introduces "A Women's Place," one of the many shelters which offer sanctuary and guidance. The shelter provides an opportunity to escape the horror, to regroup and rebuild a life.
