Shouting Gods
Produced By Myria Major and Bernadette Snead
Shouting Gods is an experimental documentary that explores capital punishment. The film addresses the complex relationship between justice and revenge, cruelty and humanity. It examines the assignment of moral authority to religious institutions, and to the State. The film considers the possibility of executing an innocent man or woman. The film is built around mock interviews with a victim's sibling and with the accused. Other clips focus on real interviews with a county commissioner and a priest. Images include newspaper clippings, police photographs, still drawings, and short animated sequences.
