Business Lunch
The Business Lunch buffet will be held Saturday in O’Hara’s restaurant at the Allentown Comfort Suites. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend, but registration and payment for lunch must be received no later than Friday at noon. The cost is $15. There will be two entrée options, one of which will be vegetarian.
Conference Banquet
The Conference Banquet will be held at the historic King George Inn, located a half-mile from the Comfort Suites. The King George Inn was built during the French and Indian War. This Pre-Revolutionary War crossroads tavern served as a way station (between Easton and Reading), town hall, meetinghouse, courthouse, and early church; directly to the rear was a drill staging field for our regular and irregular citizen-soldiers of the Revolution. Registration and payment for the Banquet must be received no later than Friday at noon. The cost is $35.
Acknowledgements
The Twenty-Ninth Annual International Merleau-Ponty Circle Conference has been sponsored by Muhlenberg College. Special thanks go to President Peyton R. Helm, Provost Marjorie Hass, and Dean Curtis Dretsch for their enthusiastic support of the Conference. My thanks also go to the following people at Muhlenberg who have provided invaluable assistance: Sally Harkins, Chris Murphy, Susan Seip, Barbara Spangler, and students Lydia Brubaker, Shannon Frost, Jon Katz, and Aaron Wolf.
Finally, I want to express my deep appreciation to all the people who founded, kept alive, and have grown the Merleau-Ponty Circle to its present flourishing state. This is a very rare intellectual community of rigorous scholarship, warm support, and friendship. I have treasured all of these qualities as I have prepared for this year’s conference and throughout my years as a philosopher.
With deep thanks,
Larry Hass
