“Learning Beyond the Classroom”
A discussion led by
Sharon Albert, Corey Goff, Chris Jachimowicz, and Jan Schumacher
DATE: Thursday, September 4, 2008
How do we engage students whose minds wander to the athletic fields, their sorority sisters, or to the many other clubs competing for their attention?
How might those activities connect to what we are teaching in our courses?
What support can we expect from student affairs staff (coaches, residential services, Greek life, etc.) in emphasizing the importance of academic achievement?
How can we encourage students who lead outside the classroom to bring their enthusiasm and influence to class?
