Paying it Forward...
Jonathon Victor ’05 is a student who truly appreciates his Muhlenberg experience. In fact, he feels that he has received so much during his three years on campus that he visited the Muhlenberg Fund office the first week of his senior year and made his first donation. This was unusual, no doubt, but Jon feels that it was the right thing to do. “Muhlenberg and its alumni support have given me endless opportunities with both academics and practical experience. I wanted to help contribute towards my classmates’ getting the same chances,” he explains.
Jon certainly has done a great deal with the resources available to him. He spent a semester abroad in Maastricht, Netherlands, is a member of the Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity, Spanish Club, Campus Christian Fellowship, and has volunteered for the Institute for Jewish-Christian Understanding.
Jon is also a Dean’s List student, a recipient of the Muhlenberg Presidential Merit Scholarship, and a student phonathon caller. “I have enjoyed the Office of Career Development’s assistance in locating jobs and internships, have gained wonderful groups of friends, and the Chapel programs rejuvenate my faith and religious life. The past three years have made me a better student and a more confident person,” he says.
Obviously, Jon understands that his education at Muhlenberg has been an extraordinary opportunity, and thats why he decided to give back while still a student. “Alumni had a part of their education paid for by those who came before them, so they too should help out present and future students. This shows pride in our wonderful College.” Please join Jon in supporting the students at Muhlenberg. He is a true example of the exceptional possibilities that our College provides. Your help will ensure that students like Jon will continue to receive an excellent education and learn the value of giving back.
