Connecting with those you support means a great deal to 1952 Muhlenberg graduate, George Pike. That is because George realizes that his annual donations to The Muhlenberg Fund have a direct impact on current students. Speaking with George, one fully understands why he chooses to support his alma mater. George knows his contributions benefit student programs, financial aid awards, equipment upgrades, academic programs, faculty and staff support, and other daily operational expenses.
“This is my way of giving back to Muhlenberg. The College helped prepare me for my career. Specifically, I choose to contribute through the Phonathon because it allows me to connect with those who benefit most from alumni contributions and I also hear how current students are enjoying the facilities available to them.”
The Phonathon is one way to make a contribution to The Fund. George says the Phonathon links the past and present and gives him the opportunity to speak with current students - like Phil Johnson ’06.
With George’s support, students like Phil can experience all the benefits of a great education. Active in the Communications Department, Phil is aware that alumni like George are responsible for his current experiences at the ‘Berg—the primary reason why he chooses to participate in the Muhlenberg Student Phonathon.
“I really enjoy connecting with our alumni because we have Muhlenberg in common. They are responsible for making Muhlenberg what it is today and I also like having the ability to thank them for ultimately giving me the opportunities I have.”
George Pike and Phil Johnson are one example of the link between alumni contributions and student gratitude and opportunities. Commit to strengthening that link by making your Muhlenberg Fund gift today!
