DR. KATHLEEN HALL JAMIESON
AT MUHLENBERG COLLEGE
AS PART OF DECISION 2000 SERIES


ALLENTOWN, PA.-(September 27, 2000)- Dr. Kathleen Hall Jamieson, Dean of the University of Pennsylvania's Annenberg School of Communication, gave a public lecture on. Tuesday, September 26 in the Miller Forum, Moyer Hall on Muhlenberg's campus.

Jamieson, who serves as Professor of Communication, Dean and Director of the Annenberg Public Policy Center, came to Muhlenberg as part of the Decision 2000 Series. Her lecture was entitled "Everything You Think You Know About Politics...And Why You're Wrong."

In addition to her multiple roles on Penn's campus, Jamieson is a published author and political contributor to CBS News. Her most recent book, which bears the same title as her upcoming lecture, is just one of her many contributions to the political world. At the 1996 presidential debates, Jamieson served as a CBS commentator and later appeared on The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. Renowned for her theories on campaign advertising and examinations of public policy debates, Jamieson has been referred to as an expert in political communications.

Jamieson is the first invited speaker of the Decision 2000 Series. Other events include a Congressional Forum with Republican Pat Toomey and Democrat Ed O'Brien, and public lectures by Dr. Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia; Paul Taylor, Alliance for Better Campaigns; Peter Hart of Peter D. Hart Research Associates; and Clarence Page of the Chicago Tribune.
