Muhlenberg College

2006 Participants
The Muhlenberg College Chemistry Department will host a
week-long laboratory experience for high school
students. Students will learn practical spectroscopic
techniques and see how they can be used to analyze
environmental samples. Students will receive hands-on
instruction in the use of departmental equipment
including: GC-MS, FT-IR, AA, and UV-Vis. Various types
of environmental samples (air, water and soil) will be
collected and analyzed by the students. Instruction
will take place in the classroom, field, and
laboratory. Faculty members in the Muhlenberg Chemistry
Department will provide all instruction. Evenings will
include a number of social events.
