The partnership previously focused on a ninth grade team  in which student groups have constructed data charts on topics such as water quality and bird population in a study of Lake Muhlenberg as well as participation in environmental studies at Graver Arboretum. The school hosts Muhlenberg College student teaching and fieldwork students on a regular basis.

Groundbreaking for a new Ninth Grade Center was held on October 1, 2008. Construction of the new center will add 28 classrooms, six science labs, a media center and an underground parking garage. The new three-story energy-efficient structure is scheduled to be completed in spring 2011.
