| French Major
Requirements |

To be accepted as a major in French, a student
must have an average of at least 2.0 in the intermediate language
courses (203-204) or demonstrate a fluent command of the language.
Majors must take a minimum of 9 courses beyond the Language 204 course,
including:
301: Conversation and Composition
302: Advanced Conversation and Composition (native speakers
may be exempted)
* At least 4 courses in literature
French 302 normally serves as the prerequisite to all courses numbered
400 or higher. All majors must maintain an average of at least 2.0
in all work done in the department. The 302 course will fulfill the
College's second writing intensive course requirement for all majors.

Minor Requirements |

A minor in French will consist
of 6 courses at Muhlenberg beyond the 204 course, including:
301: Conversation and Composition
302: Advanced Conversation and Composition
* At least 2 courses in literature
* Students must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in all
courses for the minor. The 302 course will fulfill the College's
second writing intensive course requirement for all minors. |
