Currently teaching Spanish Conversation & Composition, as well as Civilization of Spain, Professor Kara Danielson has been a member of the Muhlenberg faculty since 2004. Interested in the study of languages and cultures in general, she holds an undergraduate degree in Chinese Language/East Asian Studies, in addition to her B.A., M.A., and A.B.D. degrees in Spanish. While her area of specialization is 19 & 20th-century Peninsular literature, with a dual focus on drama and novel, she has a passion for the visual arts, particularly that of Spanish painting, which she integrates into her research. Her doctoral dissertation, “Painting on the Page and Painting on the Stage” investigates the relationship between literature and the visual arts and the art-life relationship as represented in twentieth-century Spanish narrative and drama.
