Dr.
Luba Iskold is an Associate Professor of Russian, Director
of the Language
Learning Center,
co-director of the Russian
Studies Program,
and advisor to the Russian Club. Since her arrival at Muhlenberg
College in 1995, she has been teaching a variety of courses,
including Elementary and Intermediate Russian, Advanced Conversation & Composition,
Readings in Russian Literature, Russian Culture & Civilization,
20th Century Russian Literature in Translation, First Year
Seminar: "Strangers in Paradise" as well as directing
independent studies on the post-communist art and novel. Dr.
Iskold specializes in second language acquisition, applied
linguistics, instructional technology and has conducted research and published in
these areas. In 1996 she launched the departmental
website and
continues to author it. Dr. Iskold is instrumental in
enhancing the departmental curriculum via electronic resources,
as well as assisting the faculty with the design and development
of multimedia and web-based applications for language learning.
