Mirna Trauger is a lecturer in Spanish at Muhlenberg College. She specializes in Hispanic Caribbean literature and is currently writing her doctoral dissertation titled “Las rupturas del contrato mimético tradicional en textos caribeños contemporáneos”. She teaches Intermediate Spanish, Civilization of Latin America, 20th Century Latin American Novel among other courses. She also serves as advisor to the Spanish Club.

She recently attended the Sixth International Conference on Caribbean Literature in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands where she read a paper titled “Chismes y rumores como herramientas de resistencia y crítica en En el tiempo de las mariposas de Julia Alvarez.
