WE CELEBRATE LANGUAGE STUDY!
Foreign Language Honor Societies
Welcome New Initiates

Drs. Kipa and Iskold with Dobro Slovo inductees Stephanie Thorpe '01 and Yelena Vidgop '02During an evening of friends, food, and foreign languages Phi Sigma Iota, the Romance language honor society, Dobro Slovo, the Slavic language honor society, and Delta Phi Alpha, the German honor society, proudly welcomed new members. In total, eighteen foreign language students were honored on February 25 at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John Pearce. Following the initiation ceremonies, inductees and faculty enjoyed a delicious Tex-Mex meal catered by Fiestas del Corazón. Guest speaker and Muhlenberg graduate, David Brightbill '99, shared with the group how his love for Spanish influenced his post-college plans and encouraged students to pursue their passion for foreign language. The evening was a great success as students and faculty specializing in Spanish, French, Russian, and German celebrated their common interest in foreign languages and cultures.
