Holiday Party in Many Languages and Flavors |
 The
last week of classes is a busy time, but for the Department of Languages,
Literatures, and Cultures, that first week of December is also a
fun time. The languages clubs prepare foods and decorations appropriate
to the season and cultures they represent. Most memorable is the
annual singing of seasonal favorites in each of the different languages
present. Whatever the groups lack in terms of professionalism in
their singing, they more than make up in joy and feeling. When all
present join in the grand finale, a multilingual rendition of Silent
Night, it is hard not to be moved by the beauty of language and
song. |
