The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures is proud
of the many connections we share with other departments. Speaking
a second -or third-- language combines very well with other areas
of study! One night every spring we take time to celebrate one
of our multidisciplinary connections: International Night is a
multilingual, multicultural extravaganza highlighting the talents
of our students in languages, literatures… and the arts.
Organized by Professor Flor María Buitrago, this year’s
event featured poetry, theater, music, and dance, with students
presenting works in nearly all of the languages taught here. A
dance exercise in French, a German history lesson, a Hebrew song,
Italian and Russian songs, and selections from a Spanish comedia
from and much more made for an entertaining evening.
