Spanish Major Requirements

To be accepted as a major in  Spanish, a student must have an average of at least 2.0 in the intermediate language courses (203-204) or demonstrate a fluent command of the language.

Majors must take a minimum of 9 courses beyond the Language 204 course, including:

301: Conversation and Composition
302: Advanced Conversation and Composition
(native speakers may be exempted)

At least 4 courses in literature

** Spanish 302 normally serve as prerequisites to all courses numbered 400 or higher. All majors must maintain an average of at least 2.0 in all work done in the department.  The 302 course will fulfill the College’s second writing intensive course requirement for all majors.


Spanish Minor Requirements

Students must maintain at least a 2.0 grade point average in all courses for the minor. The 302 course will fulfill the College’s second writing intensive course requirement for all minors.

A minor in Spanish will consist of 6 courses at Muhlenberg beyond the 204 course, including:

301
: Conversation and Composition
302: Advanced Conversation and Composition

At least 2 courses in literature
