The Muhlenberg College Choir, a 100-voice mixed chorus, performs Fall and Spring concerts of sacred and secular music. During the first weekend in December, the Choir sings multiple performances of the annual Candlelight Carol Service.
The Chamber Singers is a select choral group of outstanding performers chosen from the College Choir.
The Opera Group provides the opportunity for advanced voice students to explore and perform operatic solo and ensemble pieces.
Instrumental Ensembles
The Muhlenberg College Orchestra presents one concert each semester from the orchestral repertoire of the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries.
The Wind Ensemble provides performance opportunities in traditional and contemporary concert music for wind and percussion players.
Other ensembles, including a flute quintet and saxophone quartet, are developed in response to student needs and interests.
Jazz Ensembles
The Jazz Band is a select group which performs a wide variety of jazz styles. Guest artists have included Gary Burton, Gillian Crane, and Skip Wilkins.
The Jazz Improvisation group explores traditional, progressive and experimental forms of jazz improvisation. The group performs once each semester.
Historical Ensembles
Specializing in music from the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods, Collegium Musicum performs once each semester in Egner Chapel. Members study early music performance practices and play period instruments.
