Professions, Inc. (NAAHP). Ms. Provost has been
President-Elect of the Association for the
past two years, will serve two years as
President, followed by two years as
Past-President. Ms. Provost was elected at the
organization's 18th National Meeting in Chicago
in June 2008. The NAAHP is an organization of
1300+ members representing colleges,
universities, professional schools and
associations throughout the United States.

This is a terrific opportunity for all pre-health students to attend. As a participant in the conference, you will meet with admissions representatives from three different professional schools in half-hour sessions. There will be an open arena "Health Information Fair" where you can visit various opportunities, post-bac enhancement programs, public health, PA programs, etc. Tours will also be available.
Two college vans will be available to take 12 students each, a total of 24 students. Drivers from the sophomores, juniors and seniors are encouraged to help with the driving, costs will be reimbursed.

PRE-MED OPPORTUNITY IN INDIA
If you are an undergraduate student interested in international community health you should know about the Mabelle Arole Fellowship, awarded annually since 2002 through JSI Research and Training, Inc. Candidates must be admitted to medical school to be eligible. If awarded the Fellowship, the student defers entrance to medical school for one year.
Applications are due in mid-January 2010 and finalist are interviewed in mid-March at AMSA conference. Fellow departs US in late August and returns in early summer of 2011. The Fellow, who receives $8,000 to cover all expenses, spends 10 months at the Comprehensive Rural Health Project at Jamkhed (in Maharashtra), one of the best examples of how mobilized/empowered communities can significantly improve their health/nutrition status.
