Title of Study:
Perceptions of OCD
Thank you for agreeing to participate in our study. The purpose of this research project is to increase understanding about perceptions of individuals with obsessive-compulsive disorder. This study is being conducted as part of a senior thesis project by a student at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. For this study, you will be asked to describe an individual with OCD, you will then read a short statement written by an individual with OCD and answer a series of questions related to this statement based on your perceptions. In all, this study should take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. By taking part in the survey you hereby acknowledge that you understand the terms of the study and grant consent to participate in this research project.
Your participation in this study is voluntary and no identifying information will be requested or tracked (i.e., internet protocol addresses), therefore your anonymity will be protected. You may terminate your participation in the study at any time without penalty. To maximize confidentiality, submitted data will be downloaded and stored on the primary investigator's password-protected computer. It should be noted, however, that absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed due to limited information security associated with internet usage. Because the survey does not request personally sensitive information, and because your identity will be not be revealed to the investigators, there are no anticipated negative concerns for participation in this study.

REGARDING LOC CREDIT: Muhlenberg College students who have signed up on the LOC board will be eligible for LOC credit. This is limited to the first 80 students who sign up. Muhlenberg College students accessing this study from a link other than the one provided through email from the experimenter will NOT receive credit for their participation. In addition to completing the LOC questionnaire at the end of the survey, your name MUST appear on the LOC sign up sheets outside of the psychology office in order to receive credit for your participation!
