Muhlenberg Dance Alumni Activities:

  • Michael Biren ‘08 is rehearsing for the International Tour of Cinderella starring Tony Award winner Lea Salonga.  He will be touring throughout the Philippines, several cities in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Qatar, Korea, and possibly Japan. 
  • Tracey Dunn ‘08 is currently dancing with the Alchemy Dance Company in Philadelphia, a contemporary jazz company.  She is also modeling and has just finished a catalog shoot for Vera Bradley due out Spring 2009. 
  • Daniel X. Guy ‘08 is a cast member of Enchantment Theatre's touring children's show The Velveteen Rabbit
  • Jake Nelson ‘08 will be working toward getting his MFA in lighting design at the University of California Davis for the next two years. 
  • Jenny Piersol ‘08 recently finished a run of 42nd Street with the Ocean City Theatre Company in cooperation with the Ocean City Pops Orchestra. 
  • Vanessa Rowan ’08 is pursuing her Master in Finance at William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA.
  • Eve Karam ‘08 is working in the south of France until October at a 4-star hotel, waitressing and taking a break before getting a full-time job.  When she returns, she will be teaching at her dance studio while looking for a full-time job.
  • Liz J. Millea '07 just finished playing Maria in The Sound of Music, and she also recently finished doing a children's show called Snowderella at Circa '21 Dinner Theatre.  She begins doing The Full Monty in September, which runs through November, in which she will be playing Susan Hershey.  Liz is still Bootlegging at Circa '21 when not in shows.  This summer, she taught at three different summer workshops for theatre and dance around the area. 
  • Robert J. Wagner '07 completed his tour with The Enchantment Theatre Company with 170 performances across the country.  This year, he will be working at The Swain School in Allentown as a Drama teacher and will be teaching after school dance classes.
  • Kristen Balas '06 is currently working on her Masters degree in Reading and Special Education at Saint Joseph's University and teaching Pre-Kindergarten in Bala Cynwyd, PA. 
  • Ashleigh Edwards '06 is teaching dance and choreographing for Linda Jan's Studio of Dance in West Long Branch, NJ and Academy of Dance in Point Pleasant, NJ.  She is also the assistance program director at Camp Sacajawea in Farmingdale, NJ.  She completed an internship with Tiffany Mills in 2007.
  • Erin Cairns '06 will be entering her second year (out of three) of the MFA in Performance and Choreography at Temple University.  She serves as Adjunct Faculty at Temple and will be presenting work with Jessical Warchal '05 at Ardmore, PA's First Friday; Koresh Artist's Showcase; and the Philly Fringe Festival.  She recently received her aerobics certification and will be completing a yoga certification program next year, as well. 
  • Carly Friedlander '06 has been interning at The Yard on Martha's Vineyard.
  • Madeline Hoak '05, is a member of the DANIEL GWIRTZMAN DANCE COMPANY in New York City. She is also a dance/theatre educator for Young Dancers in Repertory, a Brooklyn-based arts organization which provides professional training and fosters growth and communication through dance.
  • Kristyn Brady '05 spent the last nine months living and working in Boston.  While Beantown will always be home, she recently relocated to New York to pursue magazine publishing.  She is starting out as an Ad Sales Assistant for Field and Stream magazine.  
  • Yara Jahrling '05 graduated from MICA in May with an MA in Digital Arts and is now running a photography business and websites.  She was just named the Co-director of Dance Fusion Dance Company at 24/7 Dance Studio in Frederick, MD, where she is still teaching dance. 
  • Jessica Warchal-King '05 is a graduate student in Dance Performance and Choreography at Temple University, she has been awarded a Teaching Assistantship for the 2008-2009 academic year.  Additionally, Jessica is performing with Erin Cairns '06, Stephanie Land '06, and other 'Berg alumni in the Philly Fringe on September 3rd and 13th at the Adrienne Theatre. 
  • Debbie Lutz ‘05 is currently working in New York City, starting her career as a Marketing Coordinator for Big Honcho Media, an entertainment promotions company, and loving every minute of it!  She is also working seasonally for Walt Disney World in Orland, FL as a parade and character performer, as well as part-time at Sephora as a make-up artist.  
  • Kimberly Schmidt '05 is in a two year graduate program in Dance/ Movement Therapy & Counseling at Columbia College Chicago
  • Lori Wilson '05 is currently dancing with modern dance companies Miki Liszt Dance Company, UpRooted Dance Theatre Co., R Squared, and inFlux Dance and is teaching for a dance studio in Charlottesville, VA. 
  • Melissa Cooper '05 is the Tour Coordinator for Koresh Dance Company.
  • Kristyn Brady '05 will be joining the east coast tour of Sesame Street Live: Super Grover Ready for Action! She plans to enter grad school in the fall of 2007.
  • Suzanne Chi '05 danced in the 2005 Bessie Shonberg Residency at The Yard on Martha's Vineyard and interning with the Tiffany Mills Company.
  • Melissa Cooper '05 is the Tour Coordinator for Koresh Dance Company.
  • Christina Esche '05 just relocated to Arizona and is working as a 1st grade teacher at Trailside Point Elementary School.
  • Frank Grande-Marchione '05 continues performing in the New York cast of Mamma Mia! as Ensemble, Eddie u/s in NYC. He won the title of "Mr. Broadway". He has previously played the principle role of Boots in the National Tour of Dora the Explorer Live!
  • Madeline Hoak '05 worked as an actor/educator with Children's Stage Adventures and now works for KidSpot Theater Co. in NH teaching, directing, and writing plays for students.
  • Lisa Marten '05 is living in Hillsborough, NJ and has interned with Tiffany Mills Dance Company (NYC) and Leah Krutzer Barber Dance (NJ). She is also dancing for a local DJ and teaching dance full time.
  • Jenny Peters '05 finished her contract in May with the National Tour of 42nd Street. She is working at Broadway in the Dells, a new theater in WI, as a singer/dancer in their Broadway review shows.
  • Emily Scanlon '05 accepted a position at a regional behavioral health center working as therepeutic support staff working with physiological and behaviorally disordered children.
  • Kimberly Schmidt '05 is starting a two year graduate program this fall in Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling at Columbia College Chicago.
  • Jessica Warchal '05 is spending her third summer at Busch Garden's Williamsburg dancing in the Festhaus
  • Rachel Ross '04 completed a doctorate of Physical Therapy at Thomas Jefferson University.
  • Diana Sweeney '04 completed certification in the Boulder Method of Colorado Pilates Mat.
  • Julie Weiss '04 is teaching yoga for children.
  • Rachael Ross '04 graduated from Thomas Jefferson University with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and now works as a pediatric physical therapist. 
  • Alicia (Malley) Sehn '04 is teaching dance, choreographing for a local high school, and dancing professionally with the contemporary dance company Artists in Rhythm. 
  • Angelina Young '04 is the Performance Director of the International Sesame Street Live production of Elmo: Ready for Action. 
  • Christina Young '04 will be Ernie is Sesame Street Live's When Elmo Grows Up. 
  • Marissa Dove '03 is teaching as an English Language Arts teacher at Great Neck South Middle School in Great Neck, Long Island. In addition to being a full-time teacher, Marissa also facilitates an after-school tutorial program to prepare students for the New York State English Language Arts Examination that they will be taking in the middle of January. 
  • Kimberly Richards '03 works as a physical therapist at Performance Physical Therapy & Fitness, Inc., establishing a dance rehab and injury prevention program. 
  • Emily Abruzzi '02 is is a Yoga teacher and bodyworker and continuing her somatic studies with The School for Body-Mind Centering®.  She has been a company member of Mock Turtle Marionette Theater since 2003, touring the Mid-Atlantic region. 
  • Dena (Diperstein) Bodo '02 is still the Manager of Entertainment at Sesame Place and is consulting with the other Anheuser-Busch parks as they add the Sesame Street characters to their parks. 
  • Adrienne Pugh '02 recently became certified to teach classical Pilates mat classes through Power Pilates of New York.  She is looking forward to continuing with the Comprehensive Certification, including apparatus training, soon.
  • Melissa Borgstede '03 completed a doctorate of physical therapy at George Washington University.
  • Lori D'Orazio '03 graduated from GWU with a Master's in Public Policy and is working in Washington, D.C. as a lobbyist.
  • Melissa Emick Hottenstein '03 opened the Endless Mountains Dance Center in Towanda, PA in 2003 and now accommodates over 200 students.
  • Kimberly Richards '03 received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Columbia.
  • Alison Clabaugh ’02 completed her Ph.D. in Psychology at Temple University.
  • Emily Eger '02 completed a Masters in Dance Education at NYU. She is dancing with The Outlet Dance Project in New Jersey.
  • Beth Danton Allar ’01 is a massage therapist in Rochester, NY.
  • Jennifer Dite ’99 graduated with a Master of Fine Arts in Dance from Temple University and teaches dance at the Lehigh Valley Charter School for the Performing Arts and at Muhlenberg College.
  • Lanell Stang '99 opened up a dance studio where she teaches ages 3-Adult Tap Ballet, and Jazz.
  • Rebecca Wanner ’98 is finishing her Master's of Social Work at NYU.
  • Heather Nucifora ’97 is teaching autistic children in Easton, third summer teaching dance classes for children with special needs at Muhlenberg College.
  • Rebecca Wanner '96 completed her Masters in Social Work from NYU.
