Location of the Theatres and Studio Theatres

The Empie Theatre is located in the Baker Center for the Arts (the white brick and glass building) on the campus of Muhlenberg College. The lobby of the Baker Center for the Arts is connected to upper (balcony) level of the Trexler Pavilion by a glass corridor. The Pavilion elevator offers access to the two lower levels - the Baker Theatre orchestra level and the lower Box Office lobby.

The Dorothy Hess Baker Theatre is located in the Trexler Pavilion adjacent to the Baker Center for the Arts and is accessible from the Baker Center across the glass corridor off the Galleria (lobby). The lower (box office lobby) level of the building is accessible from the Pavilion entrance off the circular driveway west of the building.

The Studio Theatre and the Dance Studio Theatre are on the lower level of the Trexler Pavilion. Seating for theatre productions, dance concerts, and the summer musical for children held in these studios are by general admission. Both the Studio Theatre and Dance Studio Theatre are accessible to wheelchairs.

The Theatre Box Office for all dance and theatre performance events at Muhlenberg College is located in the lower level lobby of the Trexler Pavilion as you enter from the circle driveway off Chew Street. If you are entering the Baker Center from the Trexler Library lot, you will walk through the Baker Center for the Arts, cross the glass bridge to the Trexler Pavilion, and take the elevator down to the Box Office Lobby.

Box Office Hours: Monday through Friday from Noon to 6 p.m. Please note, the Box Office is closed during scheduled breaks during the academic season. The Box Office will be open for the summer season following Memorial Day weekend. Summer box office hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Empie Theatre entrance is from the top of the theatre (row 0) and the wheelchair access is from the lower level (row A). Request seats in the lower rows or the last several rows if you are not seated in a wheelchair but have difficulty walking the stairs. The Baker Theatre has left and right entrances to both the orchestra section (rows A to L) and the 4-row balcony section (AA to DD). There is wheelchair access in the rear of both sections of the theatre. If you are not seated in a wheelchair but have difficulty walking the stairs, request your seats in the lower rows or the last several rows of the Orchestra or the back row of the Balcony. Both the Empie and the Baker Theatres provide infrared hearing assistance equipment upon request, courtesy of the Dexter and Dorothy Baker Foundation. The Studio Theatre and Dance Studio Theatre entrances are accessible from the lowest level of the Trexler Pavilion. Both spaces are general admission seating with wheelchair accessibility. Arrive early to sit in studio seats that are nearest the stage and/or do not require climbing platform risers. Patrons needing special seating are advised to arrive 30 minutes before the start of the performance to be seated.

Free parking is provided in campus lots west of the Trexler Pavilion for Theatre and Dance on Chew Street and south and east of the Trexler Library next to the Baker Center. Street parking is also free and permitted where available on Chew Street.

There is a drop-off/pickup area in the circle drive directly outside the Trexler Pavilion lobby and a designated drop-off area on Chew Street below the entrance to the Baker Center for the Arts.

There are handicapped parking spaces reserved for cars with official permits west of the Trexler Pavilion and in the Trexler Library lot nearest to the rear entrance to the Baker Center for the Arts. Both lots are accessible from Chew Street.
