AUDITIONS
Students with strong skills are encouraged to audition/interview
with the department. Often the audition/interview is combined with a campus visit and the opportunity to observe or take classes in the department. An audition or interview is required for applicants who wish to be considered for talent-based scholarship awards. Aside from the regular student aid funds available to Muhlenberg students, the Department of Theatre and Dance offers special scholarships for students with strong skills in performance (acting or dance), theatre design and technology, directing, play writing and stage management. Audition/Interviews in theatre and dance are held on campus from September through February. Students who plan to apply for early decision should complete auditions/interviews by the middle of December. Students who live more than 200 miles from Allentown may submit a videotape audition, have a telephone interview or submit a portfolio by mail.

FINANCIAL AID
The Office of Financial Aid at Muhlenberg is designed to be a resource for families of all income levels. In addition to the college's student aid funds, the Department offers special scholarships. The Baker Scholarships and Muhlenberg Talent Grants worth from $1,000-$4,000 per year are awarded on the basis of an audition and/or interview with the staff of the department and references from theatre or dance teachers. These scholarships are renewable on the basis of continued participation in the programs of the Department of Theatre and Dance. Students with strong skills and interest in technical theatre or theatre administration are eligible for College Work/Study Grants in the theatre and dance areas, if there is a demonstrated financial need. These grants are awarded in return for up to ten hours work per week in the department scene, electrical or costume shops, or in the box office, dance studio or administrative offices.

DANCE AUDITIONS

Auditions for talent grants are complete for students applying to enter Fall'08 . Dance audition dates and online registration for next year's auditions will be available in August. Detailed instructions will be posted on the web at that time.
