Trexler Library 2008 YouTube Contest: Official Rules
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: October 17, 2008 -- 4pm
ENTRANTS
All entrants must be currently-enrolled students at Muhlenberg College.
Entrants can work individually or as part of a group.
SUBMISSIONS
In keeping with the theme of Trexler Library’s 20 th Anniversary Celebration (Trexler Library: Then, Now and Into the Future), submissions must be related to the topic of libraries and/or information use, broadly defined.
Submissions cannot exceed three minutes in length.
Submissions must be in good taste. Profanity, extreme violence, nudity, and depictions of illegal activity are not permitted.
REGISTRATION AND SUBMISSION PROCESS
Entrants must fill out the registration form in advance of submitting entries.
Submissions must be uploaded to the Trexler Library 2008 YouTube Contest Group on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/group/trexlerlibrary2008).
For help with YouTube, including how to upload and add to the group, visit http://help.youtube.com.
Entries must be submitted/uploaded by 4pm on October 17, 2008.
NOTE: Winners will be required to submit a DVD copy of their videos in order to receive prizes.
SUBMISSION TERMS
By submitting a video, each entrant agrees:
- that entrants have all rights and authorization to enter the submission into the contest;
- that entrants have obtained permission from each person appearing in the submission to both participate in the submission and in the contest;
- that the submission is original and does not infringe on the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights or any other legal or moral rights of any third party, or violate applicable laws, regulations, or terms of use;
- that entrants grant Muhlenberg College the unconditional and perpetual right and permission to reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, publicly display, adapt, exhibit and/or otherwise use or reuse the submission in whole or in part.
JUDGING / WINNING / PRIZES
Entries will be evaluated by a team of judges with respect to:
- creativity/originality
- entertainment value (humor, drama, etc.)
- integration of libraries, information use
Winning submissions will be shown at Trexler Library’s 20th Anniversary Celebration on October 24, 2008. Winners will be announced at the celebration and winners must present to receive prizes. (Finalists will be notified in advance of the celebration.)
NOTE: Winners will be required to submit a DVD copy of their videos in order to receive prizes.
Prizes will include: First place -- $125 cash; Second place -- $50 Best Buy gift certificate; Third place -- $25 Parma Pizza gift certificate.
