FINDING ARTICLES
http://www.muhlenberg.edu/library/articles/databases/alphabetical.html
Follow the path: Trexler Library Home Page - Find - Articles A-Z.

Tip: Use Magazines for Libraries (at the ref. desk) or UlrichsWeb (database listed under Online Reference Shelf), to help you evaluate the journals you locate in these databases. Key concepts include refereed or peer reviewed, scholarly vs. popular.

Academic Search Premier contains full text for more than 4,000 scholarly publications covering academic areas like medical sciences, ethnic studies, education, humanities, etc.

AGRICOLA is a bibliographic database created by the National Agricultural Library. The database covers materials in all formats from as early as the 15th century. The resources encompass all aspects of agriculture and allied disciplines. Under "Articles" chose "Keyword Search".

General Science and Biological & Agricultural Index both index scholarly and popular periodicals which have information on biology and agriculture plus many more scientific topics. Full text of many journals available.

IngentaConnect is a table of contents service for over 31,151 publications since 1988. It contains approximately 23,500,000 citations to articles, chapters, reports, etc. with this number increasing weekly. It indexes 249 journals in the agriculture/food sciences, 825 in biology/life sciences, 1534 in medicine, and 390 in earth/environmental sciences.

Lexis-Nexis is a full-text database of major newspapers, newswires, select trade journals and magazines. Good for secondary sources on a topic.

PubMed searches Medline which is an index of medical journals sponsored by the National Library of Medicine dating back to 1950s. One of the limits is for full text and/or abstracts.

FINDING A JOURNAL TITLE

To check to see if Trexler Library has access to a journal title, go to the library catalog. Once there do a Journal Title search. If the library has access to this title in any format there will be a match for your search. Formats include full text online in one of the library's journal databases, print which would be on Level C in the library, or microform on Level A.
