- Express Times Photo Galleries offers a rolling six-month selection of local news images.
- Philadelphia Inquirer maintains five-day archives of regional news images and longer-lasting archives of special reports.
- New York Times Multimedia Index Page offers selected images of world, national, and regional events, organized as "slide shows". User registration is required but is free and need not be associate with full personal identities.
- Guardian Unlimited (Manchester, UK) provides extensive photo galleries of recent world events.
