Downloading and E-Mailing from the Library Catalog
You can save search results from the Trexler Library Catalog, for formatting as citations, printing, or e-mail.
Marking Records: When you receive search results (lists of materials), you will see a column of check-boxes like this:
Sometimes these will be designated Save. Simply click in the check-box for the items you want to export. Be certain to press this button:
--or your selected record or records will not be saved. When you have selected the "Add Marked Records to Saved" button, these buttons will appear in the button row at the top and bottom of the screen:
You can continue to do more searches and add their results to your "saved" list by marking additional items you want to save and clicking on the "Add Marked Records to Saved" button. Note the warning: Records must be Saved page-by-page.
Reviewing Your Saved Records: Press the "Review Saved Records" button at the top or bottom an any results page.
Choose your export location:
E-Mail (to mail yourself the list) You must enter your e-mail address, and you may accept the default subject line or enter your own.
Screen (so you can print the saved records)
Local Disk (to save the list to your computer)
Select the file format for your export file:
Full Display (the complete record)
Brief (basic bibliographic citation)
MARC (coded citation for use with some citation software)
Click on the "Submit" button:
If you selected screen, you will next see a printer-friendly screen with your record or records.
If you selected Local Disk, you will see a dialog box from your browser. Choose "Save File." Then type in a file name ending in ".txt," --be sure to save as a "Plain Text" file so you can easily retrieve it. (*.txt).
Removing Marked Records from this List : You can remove particular records from your list after your reconsideration and review. You can also Clear all your Saved Records by selecting this button:
