Complete our Internship Announcement Form, so that we can post the opportunity and enter it into our database. Please be sure to include a description of the internship position, guidelines, qualifications and application instructions. It is also helpful to inform students whether the internship is paid or not paid.
Students can register an internship for academic credit, but they are not required to do so. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has compiled a list of best practices for internship programs.
This fact sheet provides general information to help determine whether interns must be paid the minimum wage and overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act for the services that they provide to “for-profit” private sector employers. These are not new guidelines from the Department of Labor, but more attention has been paid to unpaid internships over the last few years.
