CMS Project Update

As you may recall, we acquired a new Content Management System (CMS) to administer the College website. Our initial plan involved migrating each department/office site manually, while performing a content review. Due to the scale of this effort combined with limited in house resources, we have partnered with the vendor to expedite the migration process. In doing so, we maintain our high level of customer service while facilitating the movement to this new and improved system.

The auto migration project kicked off on August 12, 2014. This migration facilitates the implementation of 85-90 sites, housing over 5,000 pages of content, into the new CMS. Prior to the final migration of site content, access to Contribute will be removed, ensuring that the latest version of content is migrated. The cutoff date is tentatively set for Monday, September 29, 2014. You will be reminded two weeks prior to the maintenance freeze, so that all necessary edits can be made in advance. We encourage you to perform regular maintenance on your website, as soon as possible. This will help prevent scheduling issues, should you need assistance. If you are unable to make updates yourself and/or require training, please contact support@muhlenberg.edu with your request.

The auto migration project will close out before the end of the Fall semester, at which time final site reviews will commence. Each department/office will be contacted by the members of the Web Team to schedule a final site review and training. "Go live" and training will occur in phases during the Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 semesters.
