Chris Herrick, professor of political science, was one of 25 invited participants in a weeklong workshop on the teaching of strategic studies offered by the Philip Merrill Center for Strategic Studies at Johns Hopkins University’s School for Advanced International Studies

Participants included academics from U. S. military academies and specialized graduate programs, large universities, small liberal arts colleges, including Claremont McKenna, Rollins, Davidson, and Boston College as well as academics from Singapore, Israel, Hungary, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Abu Dubai. Topics included syllabus design for units on intelligence, counterinsurgency, technology and warfare, simulation and gaming, case studies, and the use of briefings as a pedagogical instrument.
