NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENT LEADER TRAINING SCHEDULED

Allentown residents interested in investing to strengthen the future of the city are invited to attend the Allentown Resident Leadership Institute sessions to be held on Saturday, March 2 and Saturday, March 9 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at Sacred Heart Hospital Conference Center.

Participants will learn how to be an empowered and dynamic leader and will learn the components of effective leadership such as communication, diversity and cultural competence, and the art of leading whether or not you have a title or an office. Participants will also learn how to how to take care of themselves to avoid burn out.

The session is open to residents interested in coordinating neighborhood activities for the first time, to current leaders who want to rejuvenate neighborhood activities and to residents who simply want to hone the leadership skills they practice in their many roles.
The Neighborhood Resident Leaders program helps residents to connect with each other and with the city. According to Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, "the City of Allentown is better when we all work together."

The sessions are sponsored by Community Action Development Corporation of Allentown and RJ Fellows at Muhlenberg College.
