Developmental Biology
In this course, we use many different animals and techniques to illustrate
the various methods by which embryos develop.
The chicken embryo, fruit fly pupa, and amphibian embryo allow students
to better understand, respectively,
morphogenesis of heart development, how embryos accumulate massive
amounts of mRNA to be used later in development, and the inductive interactions
needed for D/V axis specification and mesoderm formation.
