Notes from the Directors
|
|
Dear Friends:
Welcome to our first e-newsletter for the Muhlenberg Community Dance Center (MCDC) Program for Young Dancers. In addition to this initiative, there are other exciting changes underway. We have added two new professionals to our MCDC education team. Lisa Busfield will serve as our Educational Director and Administrative Manager, and Teresa VanDenend Sorge assumes the role of Student Teacher Training Mentor. Both Lisa and Teresa earned their master’s degrees in dance education from Temple University and currently teach in the Muhlenberg College dance program. Tara Repsher continues to serve as School and Performance Company Director, and all three professionals will work closely together to further strengthen the educational mission of MCDC.
Other news and upcoming events can be found below. We hope you enjoy the format and will share with your friends. I look forward to seeing you on Dec. 10 for Performance Day.

Meet the MCDC Family
|
Each month we would like to take some time to introduce you to an MCDC student. This month we’d like to introduce Jeanne Ritter. Jeanne is 16 years old and attends Emmaus High School. She has been dancing with MCDC for seven years and has been part of our Performance Company for the last 2 years. Jeanne’s favorite dance class is ballet, and as one of our advanced dancers, she is a student teacher in our Saturday morning Creative Movement class. Jeanne’s hobbies include hanging out with friends!

April 6-7, 2012 — No Classes—Easter Break
April 19-22, 2012 — Muhlenberg College’s Dance Emerge (student choreography concert). Tickets available at 484-664-3333 or online.
May 5, 2012 — Spring Session Classes End
May 9, 2012 — Performance Company Tech Rehearsal, time TBA
May 10, 2012 — Spring Show Dress Rehearsal, time TBA
May 11-12, 2012 — Spring Shows (Baker Theatre)

New Creative Movement Class
|
Our Creative Movement class is doing SO well, we will be adding a second class this spring. This class will meet Monday evenings at 5:00 p.m. in Brown Studio!

MCDC Apparel
|
Our final fall order for apparel was due Dec. 1, but we will be selling more MCDC apparel this spring. We’ll keep you posted!

Inclement Weather
|
In case of inclement weather, please refer to WFMZ Channel 69 News or the WFMZ Website for MCDC class cancellations. We will also post class cancellations on the front of the Muhlenberg website.
