Notes from the Directors

Dear Friends:
Each year, Muhlenberg dance students have the incredible opportunity to perform in the Master Choreographers concert. A spectacular evening of ballet, contemporary dance, tap and jazz, the concert showcases exciting new dance works choreographed by nationally and internationally acclaimed guest artists and faculty.
This season's concert will feature six world-premiere works, as well as a prestigious restaging of "Valse Fantaisie," by the great contemporary ballet composer George Balanchine. Master Choreographers will be held Feb. 9-11 in the Empie Theatre, Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 8.
Several MCDC teachers are among the dancers selected for this season's Master Choreographers concert. Watch for ballet teacher Sarah Biren, creative movement teacher Kelsey Hutchison, tap instructor Sioned Papparotto, and jazz instructor Jill Casella among the talented dancers on stage.
MCDC students of all ages — and their parents: We encourage you to join us Saturday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. for MCDC Day at Master Choreographers. Receive a special concert-goers guide before the concert, and then join us for a Talkback Session with the MCDC faculty. Your dance teachers will tell you all about the experience of performing on the Muhlenberg Mainstage, and you can ask them all your questions!
Tickets for MCDC Day are $8 for young audience members and $15 for adults. Get your tickets online, or call 484-664-3333. Be sure to mention MCDC Day when you order!

New York City Trip
|
|
MCDC Performance Company's New York City Trip:
Seats available to upper-level students
The MCDC Performance Company will be New York-bound on Feb. 19. We'll be participating in a 90-minute musical theatre class in the City, and then students and parents will have the rest of the day to explore NYC! JJ Limousine will provide transportation. Further details are forthcoming.
The trip is open to all Accelerated Intermediate and Advanced students and their parents. If you're interested in signing up or would like to find out the cost (which is still to be determined), please email Tara by Feb. 1, at mcdc@muhlenberg.edu.

Meet the MCDC Family
|
This month, we'd like to introduce Emma Madison Fermier, a 9-year-old MCDC student! Emma attends Cetronia Elementary School and is in the fourth grade. She has been dancing with MCDC for four-and-a-half years and takes ballet, jazz, tap and modern classes. Emma's hobbies include swimming and playing outside when it's nice out, and she likes creating art projects. Emma also enjoys any performing arts activities, including MCDC, playing the piano (which she has done for almost three years), and playing the clarinet.
