wrestlers tested in opening tourney

Junior Patrick Gibson won a conoslation bout by major decision at 149.

The Muhlenberg wrestling team opened up its 2010-11 season by finishing ninth at the King's Monarch Invitational. Nationally ranked Wilkes won the tournament.

Two Mules finished one bout away from placing in the top six. In his debut for the Mule wrestling team, junior Joseph Wassel went 2-2 at 165, dropping his first bout on a close 4-1 decision to the seventh seed. Wassel came back to win a major decision and a decision before bowing out in the consolation quarterfinals.

Senior Keith Swanson made a nice run through the 149-pound consolation bracket after losing his second bout to the top seed. He won three straight bouts, two by fall, before getting pinned himself.
