Joe Carlucci, Kory Crichton, Joe Hogh Three seniors – Joe Carlucci, Kory Crichton and Joe Hogh – will captain the Muhlenberg football team in 2013.

Carlucci (above left) has been one of the Mules’ top quarterbacks for the last three years. He rose to the top of the depth chart late in the 2012 campaign and led the team to a comeback overtime win against Ursinus and a 45-7 victory over Moravian in his first career start. Carlucci also started the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl and threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns in a three-point loss to Delaware Valley.

Carlucci passed for 597 yards and five touchdowns last year, completing 53.4 percent of his passes. He also rushed for 226 yards (third on the team) and five touchdowns.

Crichton (above center) was Muhlenberg’s leading tackler last season, his first as a full-time starter. He made 94 stops (61 solo), including nine for loss and four sacks, while breaking up two passes, intercepting one and forcing a fumble. The inside linebacker ranked sixth in the Centennial Conference in tackles per game.

Crichton enters his senior season leading all active Mules in career tackles (128).

Hogh (above right) saw time at fullback and tight end last year and received the Special Forces Award from the coaching staff as the team’s special teams MVP. Hogh made four tackles on special teams and returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against Johns Hopkins. On offense, he caught three passes for 26 yards.

An outstanding student, Hogh was named to the Academic All-District team in 2012.

The Mules, who have been to the postseason nine of the last 13 years, are scheduled to begin preseason camp one month from today, on August 15. Their first game is scheduled for Saturday, September 7, at home vs. The Apprentice School.
