Charlie Kline, Jarrett Felix, Nicki Cronin, Ramzy Burns Four seniors – Charlie Kline, Jarrett Felix, Nicki Cronin and Ramzy Burns – will repeat as captains of the Muhlenberg cross country teams in 2013.

Kline (above left) is coming off a strong season as the Mules’ top runner. The Vermont native led the Muhlenberg pack at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational (40th), Centennial Conference Championships (31st) and NCAA Mideast Regional (67th), where he improved his time in the Long-Short Invitational by 34 seconds. Kline also finished fifth as the Mules won the Falcon Classic and was named to the Fall All-CC Sportsmanship Team.

Felix (second from left) finished 56th at the Lehigh Valley Invitational. He was 28th in the men’s 4k at the Long-Short Invitational, and has been a member of the CC Academic Honor Roll for the last two seasons.

Cronin (second from right) was one of the top runners on a women’s squad that turned in a historic season a year ago. She finished 31st at the NCAA Mideast Regional, earning all-region honors for the second year in a row. Cronin, who overcame an early-season injury to earn a runner-up finish in the 4k at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational, also placed 18th at the Centennial Conference Championships and was named to the CC Academic Honor Roll for the second straight year.

Burns (right) is coming off a solid junior campaign in which she finished 61st at the CC meet before coming in 116th at regionals. Set to enter her third season in the Mules’ top seven, Burns also made the CC Academic Honor Roll in each of the last two years.

All four athletes played major roles in the success of their respective teams last year. The men moved up a spot to fifth in the conference meet and three places to 15th at regionals. The women, meanwhile, matched a program-best finish by coming in fourth in the CC and marked back-to-back top-10 finishes in the NCAA Mideast Regional for the first time in program history with an eighth-place showing.

Muhlenberg begins practice on Saturday before kicking off the new season on Saturday, August 31, at the Lehigh Valley Invitational. The Mules then host the Cedar Crest/Muhlenberg Invitational on Saturday, September 21.
