Thies Named Player of the Week

Kayleigh Thies Kayleigh Thies’ rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner was played before the first two home games of the 2013 season for the Muhlenberg field hockey team. And Thies was heard from during the games too.

The junior was named Centennial Conference player of the week after helping the Mules win both games.

Thies assisted on the second goal in a 5-1 win against King’s and was involved in all the scoring in a 3-1 CC victory against McDaniel, tying a career high with five points. She blasted in two shots off penalty corners, the first to tie the game in the first half and the second to give Muhlenberg the lead in the second. She later assisted on an insurance goal.

The six points gave Thies eight for the season, good for a tie for eighth in the CC. For her career, Thies has 51 points on 19 goals and 13 assists.
