2014 men's soccer captains A pair of seniors – Bryan Attanasio and Lance Dotzman – will captain the 2014 Muhlenberg men’s soccer team.

Attanasio (left in picture) was an All-Centennial Conference second team selection in 2013 and returns for his senior year as the most experienced member of the Mule defense. The right back was a crucial part of the 2013 back line that helped limit opponents to only 19 goals (tied for second in CC) in 19 games, continuing a streak, which started in 2006, of holding opposing teams to no more than a goal per contest. Attanasio has four career points with a pair of assists in each of the last two seasons, including a helper on the golden goal against Ithaca last year.

Entering the 2014 campaign as Muhlenberg’s active leader in games played (48), goals (9), assists (5) and points (23), Dotzman (right in picture) will look to continue his play as one of the top playmakers in the conference. The central midfielder led the Mules in scoring (8, sixth in CC) and assists (5, tied for 5th) in 2013, leading him to be selected to the All-CC second team. He found the back of the net in the ECAC Tournament win vs. Marywood and posted a career-high four points in a 4-0 win over Moravian

The duo helped lead Muhlenberg (10-8-1) to its seventh straight double-digit win season and its 28th consecutive non-losing season in 2013. The Mules were ranked as high as eighth in the region last year and earned a trip to the ECAC Tournament semifinals.

The Mules report to practice on Saturday and open the season at home against William Paterson Friday, Aug. 29.
