Season review
The Mules fell just one game short of reaching the Centennial Conference playoffs but had many memorable moments in 2010.

Joseph DiCecilia May 24: DiCecilia earns all-region honor
Junior Joseph DiCecilia (right) was named to the all-region second team.

May 13: Beck named to Academic Honor Roll
Sophomore Brian Beck was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

Phil Cresta April 29: No. 22 for No. 28
Senior Phil Cresta (left) pitched a complete-game six-hitter in the last game of his career to earn his school-record 22nd win as Muhlenberg closed out its season with a 6-4 win against DeSales. The Mules trailed 4-2 before scoring four runs, the last three with two out, in the top of the eighth.

April 28: DiCecilia first-team All-CC; Mules lose at Lehigh
Junior Joseph DiCecilia received All-Centennial Conference first-team honors ... Muhlenberg brought the tying run up to the plate in the top of the ninth at Division I Lehigh but lost, 7-4.

Dan Fisher April 24: Records fall for seniors
Muhlenberg split with Washington in its last doubleheader, falling one game short of the Centennial Conference playoffs. Senior Dan Fisher (left) broke three school records in the twinbill, and the other two Mule seniors also made their marks on the record book.

Jeff Puklin April 22: Mules sharp in tuneup
Junior Jeff Puklin (right) led a 21-hit attack with four RBI as Muhlenberg tuned up for its big Centennial Conference finale with a 14-4 home win against Susquehanna.

April 19: Eastern pulls out win in ninth
Muhlenberg gave up three runs in the ninth and lost on a walkoff single at Eastern, 10-9.

April 18: Muhlenberg two wins from playoffs
The Mules can play their way into the Centennial Conference playoffs by sweeping Washington on Saturday.

April 17: Mules can’t stop Hopkins
The Mules were the latest victim of No. 4 Johns Hopkins, dropping both games of a doubleheader, 9-1 and 13-6.

Joseph Vila April 16: Muhlenberg comes back to complete sweep of Dickinson
The Mules overcame a three-run deficit after five innings to defeat Dickinson for the second time in four days, 6-3. Freshman Joseph Vila (right) capped a three-run rally in the eighth with an RBI single.

Clint Lynch April 13: Bats explode vs. Dickinson
Muhlenberg scored eight runs in the first inning and 11 in the fifth in a 26-3 home win against Dickinson. The 26 runs were the most scored by the Mules in 13 years. Junior Clint Lynch (left) homered and drove in five runs.

Eli Branzburg April 10: Muhlenberg splits with McDaniel
The Mules brought their losing streak to an end in Game 2 of their doubleheader at McDaniel, winning 10-6. Junior Eli Branzburg (right) had 2 of the Mules’ 13 hits. Muhlenberg dropped the first game, 8-1.

April 9: Ursinus completes sweep
Ursinus scored at least four runs in three of the last five innings, completing a season sweep of Muhlenberg with a 15-3 win.

April 6: Muhlenberg loses wild one
The Mules plated two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the score but ultimately lost at Ursinus, 14-13, on a walkoff bunt with the bases loaded.

John Muha April 3: Mules win second game to gain split
Freshman John Muha (left) went 3-for-6 and drove in two runs in the second game as Muhlenberg came back from a 3-2 loss in the opener to earn a split of a doubleheader at Franklin & Marshall with a 13-11 win. Junior Joseph DiCecilia hit a three-run homer.

April 2: Ninth-inning rally falls short
The Mules threatened in the ninth, bringing the winning run to the plate, but couldn’t come all the way back in a 6-4 loss to Haverford.

Kevin Witmier March 31: Bullpen shuts door in win over Haverford
The Mules held on for a 3-2 win over Haverford thanks to four shutout innings from their bullpen. Junior Kevin Witmier (right) contributed to the relief effort by entering with two on and nobody out in the sixth and recording three straight outs.

Jesse Nusbaum March 28: Big innings carry Mules past Swarthmore
Muhlenberg won its third game in two days, ending Swarthmore’s eight-game winning streak with a 17-3 victory. The Mules opened up a close game by scoring six runs in the sixth and eight in the eighth. Sophomore Jesse Nusbaum (left) had a two-run double in each of the big frames.

Jason Daniels March 27: Mules hang on to sweep Gettysburg
Junior Jason Daniels (right) pitched a nine-inning complete-game eight-hitter in the nightcap as the Mules nipped Gettysburg, 5-4, to complete a doubleheader sweep. Muhlenberg used a pair of five-run innings to win the opener, 10-5.
