Athletics: Men's Golf
The Muhlenberg College men’s golf team has been around since 1951, but it is in recent years that the program has been at its finest. The Mules shared the Centennial Conference title in 1997, then won it outright in 1999, 2001 and 2004. The 1999 team earned a bid to the NCAA Division III Championships in Williamstown, Mass., finishing 18th.
Muhlenberg also has won titles at regular-season tournaments at Gettysburg (fall 1997, spring 1998, fall 1998, fall 1999); Moravian (fall 1997, spring 1998, fall 1998, fall 2010, spring 20111), Susquehanna (spring 2000, spring 2008), Messiah (fall 2007, fall 2009) and Elizabethtown (fall 2000) as well as its own Fall Classic in 2000, 2007 and 2010.
Before moving to an all-invitational schedule, the Mules experienced success in dual matches, compiling a record of 90-45-3 (.663) from 1990 to 1998 and tying the school record for wins in a season (12) in 1990, 1991 and 1995.
