Season review
The Mules continued their push toward the top of the Centennial Conference, beating a pair of powerhouses for the first time but ultimately missing the playoffs because of tiebreakers for the second straight year.

Andy Curley May 13: Curley named to Academic Honor Roll
Junior Andy Curley (right) was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.

May 4: Two receive honorable mention
All-Centennial Conference honorable mention was given to Mule senior Matthew Schroeder and junior Mike Horowitz.

Ivan Brown April 24: Muhlenberg wins finale
Although they didn’t get the help they needed, the Mules ended the season with an impressive 9-3 win at Ursinus. Senior Ivan Brown (left) contributed to a defense that tied the school record for fewest goals allowed in a Centennial Conference game.

April 17: Mules fall to RPI
Muhlenberg lost, 12-7, at 15th-ranked Rensselaer.

Ari Jacobson April 14: Muhlenberg rolls against Moravian
In what is likely the final meeting between Muhlenberg and Moravian, the Mules cruised to a 17-7 victory. Senior Ari Jacobson (right) scored his second career hat trick in the win.

April 10: Mules beaten by McDaniel
Muhlenberg fell behind 6-1 and never recovered in an 11-6 loss to McDaniel on Senior Night.

Sean Delany April 7: Muhlenberg nearly upsets Dickinson
The Mules led late against No. 5 Dickinson but couldn’t complete the upset and fell, 12-10. Senior Sean Delany (left) scored his first goal of the season in defeat.

April 5: Horowitz earns CC honors again
For the second consecutive week Muhlenberg junior Mike Horowitz earned Centennial Conference defensive player of the week honors.

Corey Aferiat April 3: Mules lose in triple overtime
Sophomore Corey Aferiat (right) netted a dramatic game-tying goal with seven seconds left in regulation, but Franklin & Marshall scored 18 seconds into the third overtime period for a 7-6 win.

Mike Horowitz March 29: Horowitz honored by league
Muhlenberg junior goalie Mike Horowitz (left) was named defensive player of the week by the Centennial Conference.

Jack Reilly March 27: Muhlenberg wins by one again
The Mules won another one-goal game, defeating Swarthmore, 9-8. The win, combined with Ursinus’ loss to McDaniel, puts Muhlenberg into a tie for second place in the Centennial Conference. Freshman Jack Reilly (right) scored the first two goals of his career, both in the fourth quarter to give Muhlenberg a two-goal cushion.

Ian Jones March 24: Mules win in OT
Muhlenberg beat No. 13 Haverford in overtime, 10-9, on sophomore Alex Ardolino’s fifth goal of the game. Freshman Ian Jones (left) set a school record by going 9-for-9 on faceoffs in the victory, the Mules’ first against a nationally ranked team.

March 20: Top-ranked Gettysburg beats Muhlenberg
Gettysburg, the top-ranked team in Division III, jumped out to a 9-0 lead and defeated Muhlenberg, 14-2.

Matthew Schroeder March 15: Schroeder earns CC honor
Mule senior Matthew Schroeder (right) was chosen as Centennial Conference defensive player of the week after leading the Mules past Washington.

Alex Ardolino March 13: Smart Alex: Ardolino scores winner
On a wet and windy day, sophomore Alex Ardolino (left) scored the winning goal 1:28 into overtime as Muhlenberg beat Washington for the first time ever, 7-6.

March 6: Muhlenberg beaten in final seconds
The Mules made a great comeback but gave up the game-winning goal with 16.6 seconds to go in a 6-5 loss to Marywood.

Brent Siebold March 2: Balanced attack leads Mules to first win
Seven different players scored goals – led by junior Brent Siebold (right) with two – as Muhlenberg picked up its first win of the season, 8-7 against a Montclair State team that played in the NCAA Tournament last year.

Al Carpetto February 21: Muhlenberg falls to Stevens by one in opener
Muhlenberg had a 20-shot advantage but fell in its opening game to nationally prominent Stevens, 8-7. Senior Al Carpetto (left) scored three goals for his first career hat trick.

February 20: Season preview
The Mules hope to put their opponents to bed with a shovel in 2010, beginning with Stevens.

October 9: Marathon men
The Mules recently ran a marathon in support of Via.

September 24: Scotty Wood Stadium gets new scoreboard
The 11-year-old scoreboard at Scotty Wood Stadium was replaced this week.

September 9: Lacrosse squads team up for freedom run
Both Muhlenberg lacrosse teams participated in a charity 5K for a local women killed in Iraq.

July 22: Mule captain adds spice to summer internship
Rising senior and chemistry major Matthew Schroeder is interning with McCormick & Company for the second straight summer.
