In 2005, a Muhlenberg wrestler placed fourth at the NCAA Championships, the best finish ever for a Mule wrestler at nationals. The 2000-01 season was perhaps the best in school history, as the Mules went 17-6 to set a school record for wins; won the CC dual-meet championship; qualified four wrestlers for the NCAA Division III Championships; and had their first All-American ever.
The 1993 team set a school record with 13 wins; the 1994 team set a school record with a .900 winning percentage and qualified three wrestlers for the NCAA Division III Tournament; and the 1995 team won the Centennial Conference championship.
Muhlenberg wrestling made a brief appearance in 1924 and 1925, then returned for good in 1942. The 1943 team won the Middle Atlantic Conference crown in just its fourth season as a varsity sport.
