women’s tennis drops marathon

The Muhlenberg women’s tennis team lost to Swarthmore, 7-2, in a marathon match that ended late Wednesday night.

The final score belied an incredibly tight match between the Mules and the 2010 Centennial Conference runner-up Garnet, which is ranked 10th in the Atlantic South Region. Muhlenberg won two of the three doubles matches and was in good postition to sweep before falling at No. 1, 9-7.

Swarthmore won all six singles matches, but four of them went to third-set supertiebreakers, and two of those went to 11-9.
